Cellini Spiral Stitch

My First and Only Experience

I’ve tried the Cellini Spiral technique once. All of the tutorials say it’s easy, and maybe it is. When I try again, I’ll see. My first attempt produced the set below.   I’d planned to sell it but my mom quickly claimed it as her own. The story behind it is it started out as a single bracelet, but when I tried to bend it to add a clasp, the thread broke and it came apart.

I looked at the two pieces for over a year trying to figure out what to do with them. I considered dismantling completely and starting over, but I’d put too much work into it. Besides the shape with the black and gray color combo was pretty unique. I decided to string the two pieces on wire combining them with gray and silver beads to make this bracelet and necklace combo.

I didn’t get much of a chance to admire my handiwork. Once I’d taken pictures, my mom took the set. I guess my improvisation worked.

Happy Beading
